Why does my candle make a crackling sound?
These are wooden wicks that produce the soothing sound of a crackling fire.
How to I responsibly burn my jane & merci candle?
The first burn is important, ensure you burn your candle for 2-3 hours. This will help avoid the candle burning down the middle leaving wax around the edge (called tunneling).
Trim your wick prior to each burn.
Burn your candle on a heat resistant surface clear of other items.
Do not burn your candle for more than 4 hours at a time.
Never leave a burning candle unattended. Ever.
Stop when less than 1/2" of wax remains at the bottom of the jar.
Do you offer custom products?
Yes! Customize candle color, vessel color, label by selecting the customize option.
Do you offer gift wrapping?
Yes, purchase the number of gift boxes you want. A flattened box, a candle care card, and a product sticker.
Where does jane & merci ship?
At this time, United States (including Armed Forces Americas, Europe, and Pacific)
How long does it take for me to receive my order?
Your order is typically shipped 2-3 business days after its placed (maybe longer due to a federal holiday). Your order will be on its way within 2 business days of your label being created. Your package is coming from Hawai'i so it may take slightly longer to arrive. You can track it with the number provided in your email notices.
Please take into consideration busy holiday periods and weather conditions that may affect and increase shipping times.
Shipping takes time and costs money for small businesses with a focus on the environment. All shipping costs have dramatically increased due to COVID and we do our best to make these as affordable as possible for you.
While our shipping times are reliant on USPS, we are constantly working towards faster, lower cost, better packing, while still paying fair trade rates allowing us to hand pack your order with love. As jane & merci grows, we hope to be able to employ people to work directly with us to hand-pack and gift wrap EVERY order efficiently.

What if I didn't receive an email notice for shipment?
If you don't receive a shipping email within 3 business days of placing your order, please email Leiko at leiko@janeandmerci.com with your order number and shipping address.
What if my order is taking longer than normal to be delivered?
We do our best to get your order out as soon as possible, but delays happen.
Please be patient, use the tracking number, and contact the carrier if there is an issue.
jane & merci is not responsible, nor in control of shipment/transit delays once the item is in the hands of the courier. Customs clearance and weather delays are the most common, and can affect the transit times outlined above. Please take into consideration delays due to COVID as well.

What happens if my order arrives damaged?
When making a purchase from jane & merci please choose carefully! In order to provide every customer with a beautiful brand new product, we cannot accept returns on any purchase. If anything you’ve ordered arrives damaged or faulty, email Leiko (leiko@janeandmerci.com) straight away, providing your order number, a description and photo of the damage, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.
You can always contact us for any return question at leiko@janeandmerci.com. Replies will be sent within 3 business days.
What happens if my order is returned to sender?
Please ensure your delivery information is correct when you process your order. If attempted deliveries are unsuccessful, please be sure to collect your package from the specified Post Office within the nominated time frame. If your orders are returned to us as you have provided incorrect information or did not collect your package before it was returned, you will be charged a fee to have it shipped out again.
